Whether you’re naturally artistic or not, Mars has a way of bringing out the artist in everyone. Perhaps it’s the ample amount of time to focus on yourself and reflect or maybe it’s being in such a magical place but for many, the result is creativity. In Shannon’s case, her creativity has manifested in her brush strokes and her research! While researching the effects of gravity on neural transmission, she painted this incredible work of art of her workspace in the twilight. When we caught up with her after seeing it in the display case, she said, “I get this magnificent view every single day and it is a dream come true. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that it is real.” Agreed Shannon, agreed!

You can view Shannon’s painting outside of Research Lab 2-Lima at our Schiaparelli Crater location. For more on her incredible research and collaboration with WHLT University and LyfeForce Pharmaceuticals, you can visit the “Current Research” tab on our Intralink.
